SALAMANCA — A Salamanca man was arrested after leading officers on a pursuit in a reportedly stolen vehicle, the Salamanca Police Department reported Sunday.
Jared C. Jacobs, 32, was charged Saturday with first-degree reckless endangerment, a class D felony; fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, class A misdemeanors; third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and reckless driving, unclassified misdemeanors; failure to stop at a stop sign, unsafe turn, speed not reasonable, failure to keep right and leaving the scene of a property damage accident, infractions.
According to police, officers had responded earlier Saturday to a complaint of a stolen vehicle. Later, officers reportedly spotted the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop, during which Jacobs allegedly failed to yield and led officers in a pursuit.
Jacobs was remanded to Cattaraugus County Jail and held pending further court proceedings.
Olean Police
- Friday, 4:49 p.m., no injuries were reported following a two-vehicle accident on Delaware Avenue near North Union Street. A vehicle operated by Jill D. Hill, 76, of Seneca Avenue, was pulling out of a parking lot when it reportedly struck a vehicle operated by Christine M. Crawford, 75, of Windfall Road. Hill was subsequently cited for failure to obey a traffic control device, an infraction.
- Friday, 10:08 a.m., Stephen H. Frank IV, 32, of 911 Buffalo St., was charged with resisting arrest, a class A misdemeanor, and third-degree criminal trespass, a class B misdemeanor. Frank was released with an appearance ticket.
- Saturday, 5:22 a.m., Louis M. Serrano, 33, of Salamanca, was charged with second-degree menacing, second-degree obstruction of governmental administration and resisting arrest, class A misdemeanors; disorderly conduct and second-degree harassment, violations. Serrano was released with an appearance ticket.
- Saturday, 11:15 a.m., Dylon E. Howard, 30, no permanent address, was charged with petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor. The charge stems from an incident reported at Ried’s Food Barn. Howard’s status was not reported.
- Saturday, 5:23 p.m., Derrell Washington, 31, no permanent address, was arrested on a warrant issued out of Olean City Court relating to a charge of second-degree criminal impersonation, a class A misdemeanor. Washington was turned over to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office on additional warrants.
- Saturday, 8:01 p.m., Larnell D. Graham, 27, of 120 E. Greene St., was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, an unclassified misdemeanor; operating out of class and failure to stop at a stop sign, infractions. Graham is due back in court at a later date.
Salamanca Police
- Tuesday, 4:03 a.m., Abraham B. Wilson, 21, of Salamanca, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, a class A misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a violation. Wilson was released with an appearance ticket.
- Wednesday, 2:57 a.m., James L. Estabrooks, 30, of Salamanca, was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and reckless driving, unclassified misdemeanors; second-degree reckless endangerment, a class A misdemeanor; and second-degree harassment, a violation. Estabrooks was held pending arraignment.
- Wednesday, 5:26 p.m., Bradley P. Stahlman Sr., 53, of Salamanca, was arrested on a bench warrant issued out of Cattaraugus County Court. Stahlman was turned over to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.
- Friday, 9:34 p.m., Antonio W. Downey, 25, of Salamanca, was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, an unclassified misdemeanor. Downey was released with an appearance ticket.
- Saturday, 12:25 a.m., Terry L. Nichols Jr., 41, of Salamanca, was charged with assault on a police officer, a class C felony; fourth-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest, class A misdemeanors. Nichols was held pending arraignment.
- Saturday, 1:13 a.m., Justice L. Crouse, 29, of Salamanca, was charged with second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, a class A misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a violation. Crouse was held pending arraignment.
Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s
- GREAT VALLEY — Jordan E. Garden, 20, of Salamanca, was charged at 11 a.m. June 16 with criminal obstruction of breathing and endangering the welfare of a child, class A misdemeanors; and second-degree harassment, a violation. The charges stem from a reported domestic incident. Garden was released with an appearance ticket.
- ASHFORD — Dustin C. Smith, 41, of Buffalo, was charged at 8:08 p.m. Wednesday with driving while intoxicated and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, unclassified misdemeanors; use of motor vehicle without interlock device and two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, class A misdemeanors; and equipment violation, an infraction. Smith was released with an appearance ticket.
- ALLEGANY — Tanya Graves, 35, of Bradford, Pa., was arrested at 12:33 a.m. Thursday on a family court warrant. Graves was remanded to Cattaraugus County Jail.
- LITTLE VALLEY — Donte Weakfall-Wright, 19, currently incarcerated in Cattaraugus County Jail, was charged at 8 a.m. Friday with second-degree assault, a class D felony. According to deputies, Weakfall-Wright was in visitation while incarcerated when he allegedly assaulted a female victim.
- MACHIAS — Michael P. Hecht, 42, of East Concord, was arrested at 8 a.m. Friday on a bench warrant issued out of Cattaraugus County Court. Hecht was transported to Cattaraugus County Jail and held pending further court proceedings.
- YORKSHIRE — Timothy E. Prouty, 30, of West Valley, was arrested at 9:39 a.m. Friday on two bench warrants issued out of Cattaraugus County Court. Prouty was transported to Cattaraugus County Jail and held pending further court proceedings.
- GREAT VALLEY — Ramsey Nelson, 26, of Great Valley, was charged at 8:07 p.m. Friday with driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol level of 0.08% or greater, unclassified misdemeanors; and speeding, an infraction. The charges stem from a traffic stop on Route 219. Nelson was released with an appearance ticket.
- OLEAN — Derrell Washington, 32, of 113 S. Sixth St., Olean, was arrested at 7 p.m. Saturday on a warrant issued out of Cattaraugus County Court. Washington was remanded to Cattaraugus County Jail and held pending further court proceedings.
New York State Police
- DELEVAN — Renee C. Gardon, 48, of Delevan, was charged at 7:15 a.m. Friday with second-degree obstruction of governmental administration and resisting arrest, class A misdemeanors. Gardon was released with an appearance ticket.
- BELMONT — Todd E. Varney, 40, of Independence, was charged at 7:44 a.m. Friday with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operations of a motor vehicle, driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol level of 0.08% or greater, unclassified misdemeanors. Varney was released to a third party.
- PORTVILLE — An 18-year-old Portville resident was charged at 1:15 p.m. Friday with third-degree criminal mischief, a class E felony; and fourth-degree criminal mischief, a class A misdemeanor. The suspect was reported held.
- RUSHFORD — Donald J. Potts, 25, of Belmont, was charged at 1:52 p.m. Friday with second-degree assault, a class D felony; petit larceny and resisting arrest, class A misdemeanors. Potts’ status was not reported.
- WELLSVILLE — Trever Willard, 22, of Wellsville, was charged at 3:18 p.m. Friday with promising an obscene performance by a child, a class D felony; and possession of an obscene sexual performance by a child, a class E felony. The charges stem from an incident reported April 7, 2021. Willard was reported held.
- OLEAN — Anthony J. Sherlock, 34, of Olean, was charged at 3:50 p.m. Friday with second-degree grand larceny, a class C felony; third-degree grand larceny and five counts each of second-degree forgery and second-degree possession of a forged instrument, class D felonies; first-degree scheme to defraud and four counts of first-degree falsifying business records, class E felonies; and false written statement, a class A misdemeanor. The charges stem from an incident reported June 28, 2022. Sherlock was reported held.
