Just finished freshman year here at UO! Amazing school for a variety of majors, including business, psychology, poli sci, etc. I will say there is next to nothing to do in Eugene, luckily we are only an hour from the beach and two hours from the mountains! Not very welcoming for introverts, it can be difficult to make friends unless you join clubs.

Great campus and facilities, fairly standard mix of professors/instructors, not much to do in the area.

Being a quarter system, I get more options to stay engaged and not get bored of subjects and if I hate a professor, it is over quickly. The campus is large but not huge which is great and being a medium-large institution with the high-level facilities and research there are so many more opportunities to get involved and do whatever you'd like.

The best schools are somewhat niche. The Volcanology department is the best in the continental US and the School of Music and Dance is the best on the west coast. Also great law and business programs.Athletics first, academics second. Huge frat sceneNot politically diverse. Very liberal and conservatives tend to be outcast, especially extremists.

I came to the UO this year as a transfer and I could not be happier with my decision. The campus is absolutely beautiful, the shops/restaurants/activities in Eugene are abundant, and no single person is the same here at UO. This school is perfect for both extroverts and introverts and offers so many opportunities on and off campus.

If you love sports culture and nature, come here. We have a great football team and Fall term is the best time for social gatherings with sports/frats. The location gets rainy a lot of the time and the weather is the nicest in the spring so be prepared for unpredictable weather. Despite the rain, nothing is better than Oregon when it's sunny.

I'm a nontraditional student, some departments are very welcoming and I've run into three departments and a few students that absolutely cut me out, the department head supported them. I'm a senior and really looking forward to getting done!

This is my second year at UO and I could not love it more. There are so many opportunities for students when they graduate and join the workforce. The staff here really cares about our success. Football is amazing and school spirit is very high. I will never get over our student Rec center. It is the best gym and you have access to tons of classes.

Great campus, super walkable compared to other campuses I've visited. Most buildings and dorms are nice and well-maintained. Reputation isn't crazy good, acceptance rate is super high but my professors so far have been great. Overall definitely recommend. After football szn it's a little more boring though lol

As many facilities as this university has, they lack safety and care for students. Honestly, this school does not care about you as much as you think they do. The safety is terrible, and don't even get me started on UOPD. The only good part was my genuinely knowledgeable and caring professors. Also, CHC is not worth it. Don't waste your money.

Don’t come here if you’re not from the west coast. It’s a solid state school and football is fun but it’s not worth $45,000 a term for out of state tuition trust

Because I'm an out-of-state student, it is difficult for me to adjust and still I have yet to make many friends. It can feel isolating, but the environment is great and it feels like there's so many opportunities I haven't even explored yet.

Campus is beautiful and the education is great. I would say that it is kind of difficult to get to know people, especially if you are an out of state student. Most of the social opportunities lie within parties, which isn't for everyone. It is hard to get to know people unless you are already a part of some type of group.
